Dear NSGA Members:

The NSGA Board thanks you for your membership and participation during the 2024 golf season.  The Board recently held its Fall meeting to review the 2024 season and begin preparations for the upcoming 2025 season.  We hereby acknowledge outgoing Board members Charlie Wurtz, Tom Schulte, John Haney, and Tom Roode, who each tendered their resignation after the 2024 season. These gentlemen served the NSGA for many years in various capacities and their leadership will be missed.  When you see them, please tell them thank you, because without their dedicated service over many years, the events would not have happened nor run as smoothly as they did.  Several new officers were elected at the meeting and one new Board member added.  Jim “Wally” Welch joined the Board at this meeting and will focus his efforts on sponsorships and expanding the membership. Other members who had previously joined the Board during the 2024 season are John Wilhelm, Jamie Ferguson, and Jerry Pont. Also at the meeting, Rich Harman was elected as President and Jerry Pont was elected as Vice President.

Several members of the Board are currently working on getting the golf venues lined up for next year.  This is an ongoing effort which will continue for several more months.  It is the intention of the NSGA Board to provide its members with access to as many top quality courses as possible.  Access to “private” courses is becoming increasingly more difficult to obtain, and when obtained more expensive to play.  Nonetheless, these courses will remain the focus of our efforts.

The Board is also currently working on lining up sponsors for the 2025 golf season.  If you have a business that may be interested in providing sponsorship assistance or have any ideas regarding potential sponsors, please communicate them to a Board member.  Someone from the Board will follow up.  Sponsorships are difficult to obtain, so any assistance beyond the efforts of Board members would be greatly appreciated.

In an ongoing effort to make improvements, the Board is working on a survey which will be sent to all NSGA members.  The survey will be short and its purpose is to provide the Board with information it can use to improve our golf events, as well as increase membership levels and participation in more events by members.  Your opinions are important.  We thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out this survey.

The NSGA website will be opening on December 15, 2024 for members to sign up for 2025  We currently anticipate sign up for golf events will begin around March 1st.  Look for additional communication regarding events, dates, costs, etc. at that time.

We look forward to seeing you in 2025, and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and Holiday Season!

NSGA Board
Rich Harman, President
