NSGA Information

  • The NSGA schedules 12-14 events every summer at many of the premier private courses in the eastern and central Nebraska area. The events will be a shotgun start and have a meal directly following the golf. The NSGA adheres to the USGA Rules of Golf at all times. NSGA events are 2-man Best Ball tournaments, with a couple using Stableford and Shamble formats, using 85% of handicap in compliance with the World Handicap System recommendations. Most events are on Mondays and our year-end state tournament is a two-day event. The NSGA will post all scores from our events.

NSGA will pay out team prizes (25% - 30% of field) for low Gross and Net team scores.

  • You must be a current paid NSGA member for an entry to be accepted. Online entry forms will be available no later than March 1 each year. The cutoff date to enter NSGA events is 5:00 p.m. the Thursday prior to the tournament date. The handicap index at midnight of the cutoff day will be used to determine the playing handicap for the next event.

We fill events on a first-received first-served basis until the event is full. All entries received after an event is full will go on a waiting list based on date and time received. Credit cards do not get charged until after being pulled into an event. If openings become available, we select the first names from the waiting list to fill those openings.

  • If the Tournament Director is notified of a cancellation before the Entry Deadline time and date (usually 4 days before the event at 5 pm), entrant will be entitled to a full refund less the processing fees for online entries. If notice is given after the 5 pm deadline, refund will be at 50% of entry fee, less processing fees. If a player/team cancels anytime after 5 pm two days before the event or doesn’t show up at the event, they forfeit their entire entry fee. As in the past, there will be exceptions for this policy (death, accidents, etc.) and these will be decided on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Refunds due from online entries will be refunded to the credit card used for the initial entry and again minus the online processing fee.

If playing partner changes are required, notify the Tournament Director as soon as possible so he can make the necessary adjustments.

  • Players under 70 will play the regular tees (6000-6200 yds). Players 70 and older will play forward tees (5600-6000 yds). Any player wishing to switch from the normal age-assigned tees can notify the Tournament Director at any point in the season, but prior to close of entry for the first event he wishes to switch. He must then play from those tees for all remaining events that season.

  • We hold our state tournament at Fremont Country Club in Fremont. This tournament is open to individuals, two-man teams, or both, giving everyone a chance to participate. More information on this event will be provided in the “EVENTS” section of this website.

  • The NSGA adheres to a strict dress code which complies with most of the clubs we play. If you wear nice shorts or slacks and a collared shirt, you’re covered. We’re guests at nice clubs, so please dress accordingly. If we’re a class act, we’ll have a better chance of being invited back.

  • The NSGA Board is comprised of volunteers who work year-round to plan and execute events to serve our members. You may contact any board member to provide ideas or feedback. NSGA members interested in joining the Board may contact any of the NSGA Officers or Directors.

  • The NSGA annually makes a donation from our treasury to the Nebraska Golf Association (NGA) for their junior golf program to assist in growing the game.

  • There’s no charge. You’re automatically in! If a player is fortunate enough to get a hole-in-one in one of our events, he will receive $100 from the general fund. No coupons to fill out. No money to pay. Just verification from reputable witnesses so the treasurer won’t feel uneasy writing the check!

We look forward to your participation this year and wish you the best of luck in all your events.
